How to be an Opportunistic Photographer

It's all in the eyes.

I believe you first need to be the kind of person who not just notices things, but has a second look at things with an expectation of wonder, perhaps you could learn this simply by slowing yourself down a bit and really taking note of the value around you. When I use the word value, to me, it never means money.

Have you ever seen a leaf fall from a tree in Autumn? If you stop and consider the fact that you might be the only human in the history of humanity to have seen that event happen, you might see some value in it, ergo a value in capturing that moment.

With the above in mind, the 'Always be prepared' motto comes in to play - I make a solid point of taking my camera EVERYWHERE with me, set to my own 'ready for anything' setting. You will need to find your own 'ready for anything' setting within your own camera and also within yourself.
