I decided to review an Android app because sometimes the good ones are hard to find. IMO Audiobooks are bit of a niche thing as far as phones go, yet despite this, there are shitloads of shitty ones and this might save someone wading through lots of install/uninstall bullshit.
What makes it better than Audible?
You don't have to buy the audio books.
What makes this better than the other ones?
What, if anything is wrong with it?
- Most of the other audio book or MP3 players will scan your entire phone for audio, Mort will let you select only one folder - why is this important? Try having your alarm ringtone go off in your ear buds while you are asleep because its next in the playlist, then you might get it.
- Mort has bookmarks and remembers where you were,
- It's free.
- It has free widgets.
- The UI is a bit ugly.
- There is no speed setting. I like that I can set the read speed to 1.25 or 1.5 with Audible.
